The Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung, BMZ) is the ministry of the German Federal Government responsible for aid to economic development. It has been led since December 8, 2021 by the Social Democrat Svenja Schulze. It is headed by the Secretary of State for International Development.
