Commitment to women entrepreneurs for the promotion of local products
ENDA ÉNERGIE has implemented a support program, supported by PMC (Petowal Mining Company), which recognizes the importance of supporting women in entrepreneurship to promote the development of communities and the promotion of local products. This program is designed with the aim of preserving biodiversity and strengthening the livelihoods of local communities. It was crowned with success, in particular thanks to the creation of incubation and stimulation spaces aimed at professionalizing local initiatives.
Thus, as part of this joint initiative between ENDA ENERGIE and PMC, training in administrative, financial management and entrepreneurship was organized in Kédougou, in the commune of TOMBORONKOTO from January 25 to 29, 2024. This training offered women from Economic Interest (EIG) of this municipality, the tools necessary to be autonomous economic leaders capable of effectively managing their businesses. The main objective was therefore to strengthen the entrepreneurship capacities of women in GIEs in the Bagnomba area.
This training, which lasted five days, was a resounding success. The women of the GIEs BARENE from BantataTanda, DENKOULA from Bantata, LANNAYA from Bagnomba, BENKANTO from Batranké and KAMBE from Tikankali all received their training diplomas at the end of the session. The graduation ceremony took place in the presence of representatives of the municipality of Tomboronkoto and financial partners.
This capacity building workshop equipped women with essential tools for the management of their GIEs, with particular emphasis on local entrepreneurship and communication within their groups. This aims to guarantee efficient organization and maximum profitability of their productions in the future. Beyond the acquisition of knowledge, this initiative has already had tangible repercussions on the ground. The trained women now have the necessary skills to better organize their businesses and manage financial flows. This step towards economic autonomy will not only contribute to the personal development of the participants but will also have a positive impact on their communities.
The success of this training session attests to the effectiveness of the support programs focused on local entrepreneurship and sustainable development. ENDA ENERGIE and PMC have paved the way for a thriving economic future for women entrepreneurs in Kédougou. With newly acquired skills and the certificates received, these women are ready to take the lead in their initiatives, thus contributing to strengthening the local economy and preserving biodiversity. The training laid the foundations for inclusive economic growth, where every woman plays a key role in the sustainable development of her community
