Acceleration program for the integrated management of resilience of the Petite Côte (AGIR - Petite Côte)

11 communes de la Petite Côte: Bargny, Yenn, Poponguine, Sindia, Somone, Ngaparou, Saly, Mbour, Malicounda, Nguéniène et Joal.

  • Description

    AGIR Petite Côte is part of the implementation of phase 2 of the Integrated Coastal Zone Management (ICZM 2) program. It operates on 3 axes which are: -

     eco-citizenship education

     - support for communities affected by coastal erosion

    - sustainable waste management.

  • Major issue

    the consolidation and expansion of proven models of the good ecological governance program within the Petite Côte intercommunal agreement (EIPC)

  • Goals

    OS1: Strengthen the participation of territorial stakeholders in open community governance of natural resources

    SO2: Securing the livelihoods of communities affected by climate change

    OS3: Promote an ecosystem of green businesses with a view to creating jobs for young people and women in high-potential and climate-resilient sectors.

  • Expected results

    - Active participation of stakeholders in the co-construction of resilience

    - Securing the livelihoods of communities affected by climate change

    - Creation of wealth and green jobs
