Enda Energie's northern branch has just completed a series of training sessions for the benefit of the cattle breeders of the Doli ranch.  These trainings focused on good hygiene practices in dairy production, entrepreneurship and dairy processing. These workshops, which were held during the month of March 2021, contributed to building the capacities of farmers on entrepreneurship and management of local micro enterprises (MIEL), especially in the milk value chain, on the good practices of hygiene of the dairy production and processing. 

These few days of sharing were also an opportunity to identify projects on the milk value chain in the ranch area, to better understand the success factors as well as the aspects to be improved in the implementation. At the end of these training workshops, the 97 beneficiaries took advantage of the presence of GIZ, Enda Energie's northern branch, to advocate for the ranch.  

Moreover, the person in charge of "Réussir au Sénégal" in Saint-Louis Mr. Aly BEN ABDALAH promised to accompany the actors of the Ranch during the second phase. "Enda Energie told us that there is a lot of potential here. Initially we wanted to do a much more consistent action at the Ranch, but time did not allow it. We are starting a second phase from October and probably the ranch of Doli will have activities through Enda Energie," said Mr. Aly Ben, at the closing ceremony of this series of workshops.  

The programme PROGRES- Lait Plus, supported by GIZ, aims to improve the achievements of PROGRES- Lait (Milk Value Chain and Solar Energy Program) and aims to strengthen the professionalization of small businesses and the development of the solar and dairy products market. The first phase focused on social engineering for the training of small producers in hygiene and milk quality, support/coaching of cooperative companies by setting up mechanisms for the deployment of the solar and dairy products market, communication and capitalization of good practices. The PROGRES-Lait Plus program is also being implemented in the Kolda region, the other PROGRES-Lait intervention area.
