Sustainable development of Ndem community strengthened by innovative climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies

To deal with the climate change effects (such as the decline of agricultural productivity and progressive rural migration etc) and an overexploitation of fuel wood, Ndem NGO has implemented a number of innovative climate change options, including photovoltaic solar energy, production of biochar and cooking stoves, electro-solar pumping, organic and localized irrigated cropping system. In addition to foreign funds, income generated from the sales of crafting products under the brand ‘Maam Samba’, have enabled the implementation of these options which in turn, create local green employment and improve the welfare of Ndem community.
