Off-grid Advisor is responsible for supporting off-grid energy companies in the country to identify new business and financing opportunities to grow and expand their businesses as well as support other advisors as needed to effectively implement the the EWA Program. 

Essential Duties

Support to the Outcome 2 Lead (100%)

• Support the Outcome 2 Lead Advisor to implement the project activities in the country based on the approved Work Plan 
• Support the Outcome2 Lead in gathering information, drafting and reviewing for the West Africa regional deliverables such as: Scope of work, New project concept notes, Weekly reports, Quarterly Reports and M&E reporting including QTATs and PATT entries as well as workproducts. 
• Support Outcome2 Lead to draft and review process documents such as scope of works, and memo to USAID missions
• Perform other duties related to ensure accomplishment of relevant project objectives as assigned by direct supervisor
• Lead all activities relating to local financing and consumer finance, including conducting assessments, identification of highest impact opportunities, contributing to annual work plans, implementing approved activities, and reporting on progress.
• Identify and advance opportunities to promote partnerships and facilitate introductions between off-grid companies and local financial institutions, including commercial banks, MFI, guarantee providers, government, and donors’ programs.
• Support off-grid companies in their application for loans and working capital from local financial institutions.
• Support MFIs and commercial banks for energy loans integration into their product portfolio.
• Advise off-grid companies on issues relating to consumer finance and local financing.

Minimum Required Education & Experience 

Bachelor's Degree and 7 years of experience, Master's degree and 6 years of experience, PhD and 5 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• ability to handle the stress associated in meeting frequent, multiple and tight deadlines, 
• ability to work in excess of 40 hours per week as workload and deadlines may require,
• consistent demonstration of mental stability and ability to have regular, reliable and predictable attendance.
